Pitta Cooling Spice Mix



2 teaspoon Coriander Seeds

2 teaspoon Fennel Seeds

2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds

2 teaspoon dried mint leaves

1 teaspoon whole cardamom seeds

1 teaspoon Turmeric powder

  • In a small skillet add Coriander seeds, Cumin seeds, Fennel seeds and cardamom and toast on a medium heat, until they are fragrant, about 1 minute.

  • Transfer the toasted spices to a spice grinder or coffee grinder and grind them. Pour the ingredients into a bowl, add 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder and 2 teaspoons of dried mint leaves powder and stir further with a spoon until well combined. Transfer to airtight container and store at room temperature.


  • Use this spice mix in soups, vegetables, rice dishes while cooking or sprinkle over salads.
